Celebrating 60 years of Marriage – Congratulations on your Diamond Wedding Anniversary!

On 30th January 1960, Roy & Marion were married in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare in Zimbabwe). They honeymooned at Victoria Falls and continued working together for CAM International in Congo – they had started as single missionaries in 1958. They spent six years working in Belgium after the post-Independence troubles, then returned to Africa in 1967. Eleven years later, they went home to UK while their children, Steven and Sarah, completed their secondary education – and Roy & Marion took charge of a church in Manchester (as well as having regular day jobs)! Then it was back to Congo again until they finally retired in 1998.

While on the field, Marion worked as a nurse/midwife and also as a Bible and French teacher. Roy also taught in Bible School, looked after literature sales and developed a bookshop at Kamina. In 1988, they moved to Lwamba to pioneer the Hospital Project. Even after retirement, they continued working for CAM for many years, visiting churches around northern England to promote the Mission’s work. As a couple, they were, and are, totally committed to serving their Lord.

God has blessed Roy & Marion with five grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

With congratulations and love to you both as you celebrate this amazing milestone.
