CAM INTERNATIONAL – NEWSLINK – 5 February 2019
‘Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests… and always keep on praying’ (Eph 6:18).
Thank you for joining us in prayer this week. Here’s our latest news to help you praise and pray for the work of CAM International in Africa and in UK.
Gordon & Sybil McKillop sent sad news of a recent bus crash to the north of Nyangombe. Isaac and Floyida, Nyangombe leaders, travelled to a family wedding in this area. But the wedding was postponed after wider family members were involved in the accident, when their bus going to the same destination overturned. 2 ladies died and about 12 were badly injured. The 2 ladies who died were leaders of women and frequently attended the Nyangombe Conferences. Please pray for all the families involved. On the positive side, churches that split 25 years ago are moving towards reconciliation, especially since the long-running court case ended last year. Praise God! Pray for a true, heart-felt sense of unity and for all the churches to participate in Nyangombe programmes. Sybil and the clinic staff are seeing more and more patients brought in from distant villages when very weak and close to death. All are prayed for and some amazing recoveries do take place, but many die. Pray for the staff who feel the weight of grief and can get discouraged in their work when there is little they can do to help these extreme cases.
Sam Livingston is thanking God for the great way the school work has opened up this term, with the children so eager to learn. Praise God! Pray for Sam and his team as they teach the Good News in the local pre-school and primary school. At the weekly youth Bible study group, one boy came afterwards for prayer as he wanted to leave his rebellious ways and accept Jesus. Praise God! Pray for God to bless this young lad and others in the group.
Daniel Habtey has been setting up an online Leadership course for Eritreans. It was due to start today. Pray for it to be well used and help those who follow it to become better spiritual leaders.
Kudzai Mandizha, in Harare, Zimbabwe, reports that the price of bread went up by 70% yesterday and there are rumours of yet another fuel increase. These increases make the feeding programme for the street kids more difficult. Thank God for help that has come through a Facebook appeal. Pray for God to minister to the street kids, and also to some blind beggars that they are feeding regularly, showing them His love and care.
Dave Garrard arrived in ETHIOPIA last Saturday for a month of ministry. He will spend the next 2 weeks in Addis Ababa, teaching 2 different groups of students. Pray for God to strengthen Dave and anoint his ministry.
Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins returned to UK from Denmark yesterday. They had a good time despite having nasty colds and coughs. They spoke at a Women’s Aglow meeting on one of the Danish islands and the organist experienced an immediate healing. Praise God! This weekend, they are with Andy McManus (CAM Trustee) in Lincs, speaking at his two Baptist churches in the villages of Morton and Dyke. Pray for God’s blessing on their ministry.
Lloyd & Sandy Rowlands are in Adelaide, Australia. Sandy is having a cataract operation on one eye next Monday (11 Feb) and then on the other eye the following Monday. Pray that all will go well.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, which encourage and bless our workers.
