CAM INTERNATIONAL – NEWSLINK – 11 June 2019
Thank you for joining us in prayer this week for the work of CAM International. It is a great encouragement.
‘Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests… and always keep on praying’ (Eph 6:18)
Here are some points for praise and prayer:-
Gordon & Sybil McKillop summed up their current life at Nyangombe as ‘never a dull moment’! Last Friday morning they said goodbye to 690 ladies after their Conference, then that evening welcomed 50 students for a 3-week Bible School. Pray for God’s blessing on this group and all who teach them. Dr Peter Gill, an orthopaedic surgeon, is spending a few weeks at Nyangombe, teaching and helping patients who need limbs to be straightened, etc – involving many trips to the nearby Mwinilunga Hospital for X-rays. Thank God for the blessing brought to suffering people through Dr Gill. A builder, Colin Breeze, is at Nyangombe for 6 weeks. Pray for safety for all the workers involved in the building work going on now.
Dave Garrard and Lloyd Rowlands had a tremendous time at Kolwezi, ministering for the whole week leading up to Pentecost Sunday (9th). The workshops with church leaders earlier in the week went very well, and then huge crowds attended the weekend of public celebration in the stadium. There were meetings from 8.30am until about 6.30pm, so it was very tiring, but Dave’s and Lloyd’s messages went well. Praise God for this great opportunity for ministry. Pray that the message of Pentecost will live on in people’s hearts and lives. Dave got quite sunburnt on the first day at the stadium, as there was no shade, but used sunscreen after that. He has also caught a cold, possibly because of all the wind and ‘terrible dust’ at Kolwezi. Pray for him, and for Lloyd, too, as they recover from their very busy week.
Dave Garrard is resting and preparing to go to Kinshasa with Kazadi tomorrow (Weds) for ministry until next Monday. He is expecting the plane tickets to be sent today. Pray for all the arrangements to go well and for Dave to know God’s wisdom and strength for this next period of ministry. Pray for Ruth, who has remained in Ndola, that she will know God’s guidance and blessing.
Lloyd Rowlands will be ministering at a church close to the Living Waters Centre on Sunday. The pastor is one of the students at ISTELU Bible College. Pray for Lloyd as he speaks there. Remember Sandy, as she keeps busy with her home church in Adelaide during this time of separation and looks forward to Lloyd’s return there in early July.
Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins were ministering at Fleet Hargate on Sunday. As it is near Fakenham, they took Ginny’s mother with them and she enjoyed her visit. They have yet to confirm plans for this weekend. Pray for them as they arrange meetings for their final 3 weeks in UK before returning to Congo at the end of June.
Sam Livingston has been in London over the past weekend. This coming Sunday he will be ministering in Preston, then the following day (17th) he flies out to return to India, from where he will go back to Zambia after a few days to start his second year of work there. Pray for Sam’s final days of meetings and church visits, and for God’s blessing in all his preparations and travels.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, which encourage and bless our workers.
