Praise God, things are moving ahead well in Chimoio with the Vocational Training Centre, ‘Centro Baruk’ (‘Centre of Blessing’). Our missionaries, Wanderley & Rosaria da Silva are helped by another Brazilian missionary couple, Jefferson & Tania Buffi. (Jefferson is skilled in manual work and crafts and the photo shows women on his crafts course with jewellery made from rubbish – empty milk cartons.) 24 May was a great day of celebrating the official opening of the Centre, attended by the city mayor and other officials. A special plaque was unveiled to mark the Centre’s inauguration. Recent courses include sewing (surprisingly, all the students were men!) and cookery. More computers are needed for the IT course and 2 keyboards for the music course (they already have the guitars). The da Silvas are looking for more local people to volunteer as teachers for these courses. Pray that Centro Baruk will bring abundant blessings to the community, as courses help equip local people to make a living and support their families.
