Generally the school year in Congo starts slowly, with families trying to find the funds to enrol their children.  Education is very important but, for many Congolese families, the cost of education is prohibitive.  Ginny Perkins has reached out to the poorer families of Lubumbashi and is working hard to provide a good standard of education at a fee which is affordable by many.  There are a number of  children from poorer families who are able to attend the school through support from donors.

The school teachers and staff have been promoting the school during the holiday period and their efforts have paid off.  There are now a record number of 500 students enrolled!  We trust that the many children who attend are able to remain in school for the full year in order to attain their State certificate.
